Village en bord de la faille de la Limagne, Berzet garde les vestiges d'un passé rural: fontaine, lavoir, four, chapelle et maisons anciennes.

Sa proximité avec l'agglomération clermontoise et sa situation aux portes du Parc des Volcans attirent toujours de nombreux nouveaux habitants et en font un site privilégié pour les promeneurs. Sportifs et randonneurs parcourent régulièrement ses chemins et sentiers qui ouvrent de belles échappées panoramiques sur le Forez, le Sancy et le Puy de Dôme. Un circuit de petite de randonnée part de Ceyrat, grimpe à travers les gorges, longe le dolmen de Samson, pour déboucher sur le plateau où se niche Berzet.

Situated on the verge of the Limagne "rift" east of the commune territory, Berzet has kept a few vestiges of a rural past: a fountain, a stone wash basin, an oven, a chapel and old houses.

Being the nearest village to Clermont-Ferrand urban area as well as a gate to the regional volcano Park, it keeps attracting new inhabitants and hikers who appreciate the numerous footpaths and the spectacular views they open towards the mountains of Forez, Sancy and Puy-de-Dôme. One of the most frequented foot circuit leads from Ceyrat, through a gorge, pass the Samson dolmen, up to the plateau on which Berzet is nestled.

Berzet liegt am Rand des Senkungsgrabens der Limagne. Der Ort bewahrt Spuren seiner bäuerlichen Vergangenheit: Brunnen, Waschstelle, Backhaus, Kapelle und alte Häuser. Seine Nähe zur Hauptstadt Clermont-Ferrand und zum Naturschutzgebiet der Vulkane (Parc des Volcans) zieht ständig neue Einwohner an und macht ihn zu einer beliebten Station für Wanderer. Seine Wege bieten Sportlern und Wanderern einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Bergketten des Forez, des Sancy und auf den Puy de Dôme. Ein kleiner Wanderweg führt von Ceyrat durch die Schluchten am Dolmen von Samson vorbei bis hinauf auf die Hochebene, auf der Berzet liegt.
